Graduation Information for Faculty
All faculty are invited to walk in the Faculty Procession. You will receive an invitation via email and we ask that you RSVP using the link provided in the email. This is important as the Ceremonies and Events Office needs to know how many faculty to expect in the procession and to seat on stage.
If you are a UBC Faculty member and have not received an email invitation by April 22, 2022, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: If you are an Associate Deans and/or member of the Vancouver Senate and have not received an email invitation, please let us know of your affiliation to UBC when emailing email@example.com.
On the day: Please arrive at the Robing Room (Telus Studio Theatre inside the The Chan Centre) at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. If you are renting regalia, please ensure you leave adequate time to pick up your regalia from the Bookstore staff at the Robing Room.
Appropriate academic attire is required of all participants. Faculty regalia (i.e. Black gown and UBC Faculty hood) may be rented online starting April 1 through UBC Bookstore’s faculty website.
The deadline to rent regalia online is May 15 for faculty members.
After the deadline you can rent regalia on-site:
- Please arrive 45 minutes before the ceremony at the Telus Studio Theatre in the Chan Centre.
- You can pay cash, credit, debit or Work tag account.
Parking for Faculty Members
- For ceremony days, the Rose Garden Parkade is being reserved solely for graduation attendees (graduating students and their guests) and Fraser River Parkade will be used as overflow parking.
- Faculty/Staff Parking permits are NOT valid in Rose Garden Parkade during Congregation. Faculty/Staff permit holders are encouraged to park at Fraser or North parkades.
