Graduation Information for Faculty

RSVP Online

All faculty are invited and encouraged to walk in the Faculty Procession. You will receive an invitation via email and we ask that you RSVP using the link provided in the email. This is important as Protocol, Ceremonies and Events needs to know how many faculty members to expect in the procession and to seat on stage.

If you are a UBC faculty member and have not received an email invitation by April 30, 2026, please contact ceremonies.graduation@ubc.ca.

Please note: If you are an Associate Dean and/or member of the Vancouver Senate and have not received an email invitation, please let us know of your affiliation to UBC when emailing ceremonies.graduation@ubc.ca.

On the day: Please arrive at the faculty robing room, located in the Royal Bank Cinema inside the the Chan Centre, at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. Entrance to the Royal Bank Cinema is located off of Crescent Road.

Regalia Rentals

Appropriate academic attire is required of all participants. If you are not bringing your own regalia, faculty regalia (i.e. black gown and UBC faculty hood) may be rented online starting on Monday, March 30, 2026 through the UBC Bookstore’s faculty website. Faculty members can also rent UBC Ph.D. regalia from the UBC Bookstore if they have a UBC Ph.D.

The deadline to rent regalia online is Friday, May 8 for faculty members.

After the deadline, regalia can be rented on-site:

  • 45 minutes before the ceremony, please arrive at the Royal Bank Cinema in the Chan Centre.
  • Acceptable payment methods include cash, credit card, debit card or Worktag account information.
